​The X-THERMAL LAB is affiliated to the School of Energy and Power Engineering, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. The Lab’s principle investigator is Professor Ronggui Yang. At present, there are 4 professors, 3 associate professors, 1 postdoc and more than 30 students. The Lab focuses on urgent needs in thermal functional materials, electronic chips, energy storage and new-type power systems, and investigates interdisciplinary thermal science and engineering challenges in condensed matter physics, ultrafast optics, energy chemistry, surface science, high performance computing and machine learning. The Lab is dedicated to exploring the microscopic mechanism of thermal energy transport and transformation by means of micro and nano observation and manufacturing means, ultrafast laser technology and advanced numerical algorithms, and realizing the large-scale application of advanced energy conversion, storage and heat management based on micro and nano new technologies.
