Kaiyuan Jin (Associate Professor)

Dr. Kaiyuan Jin received his B.S. degree from Tsinghua University in 2015 and his Ph.D. degree from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2019. He worked as a postdoc associate with ASME Fellow, UCLA John P. and Claudia H. Schauerman Endowed Chair Professor Timothy Fisher from 2020-2022. Dr. Jin participated in multiple research projects funded by US DOE ARPA-E and California Energy Commission during his study at UCLA and his work focused on studying and demonstrating novel thermal energy storage and power generation technologies. Dr. Jin joined HUST in September 2022 and his current research interests are modifying thermal properties of storage media, developing high-temperature anti-corrosion methods, and designing and optimizing high-temperature heat exchangers in thermal energy storage systems. He has published 13 articles in renowned journals including Applied Energy, Journal of Power Sources, International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, and served as the peer reviewer for Journal of Power Sources, Corrosion Science, and ASME Journal of Heat Transfer.
